This too Shall Pass: Faith over Fear

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die;.../A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;.../ A time to keep silence and a time to speak;...A time for war, and a time for peace" (Ecclesiastes 3:8).

Have you ever heard of the saying that there is a season for everything? Well that saying first came from the word of God and in this passage God is telling us that nothing on this earth lasts forever; events, situations, troubles and even times where things seem to go our way has an expiration date. I know that sounds harsh but just think about it, how would we grow? Life is not a straight line, there will be ups and downs but what is comforting to know is that God doesn't change and is present through the good times and the bad. I know that some people are feeling hopeless during this time of the pandemic, especially with the amount of cases and deaths increasing around the world each day but this is not the time to fear or worry but to have faith because this virus also has an expiration date and it's time is also fleeting!

There is a time to every purpose. This saying might not make any sense but it starts to when interpreting it and relating it to the current crisis and everyone and everywhere being on lockdown and quarantined in their homes. Right now, while everyone is stuck at home, is a great opportunity for people to seek God without distractions and to start putting their trust in him. We cannot trust in man because mankind fails at times but God never fails; no one has a cure for this virus yet, people just have to fight it themselves. So what hope does anyone have right now? I'll tell you guys... it's God, he said by his stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:3) and what the Lord means by this is that he was wounded for our transgressions (our sins), so even sicknesses, which is not from God, has been covered by his blood. Like my mom said the other day while praying, we are protected and vaccinated by the blood of Jesus! This is a time for healing and not only from this virus but also spiritually:"If my people, which are called by name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land" (2 Chronicles 7:14). I believe that everything that is happening right now is showing us that mankind is not in control because this crisis is uncontrollable but God is in control, he is real and we need to start seriously seeking his face and asking him to have mercy upon us.

This is a time where our faith is being put to the ultimate test, do not fear but trust in the words of God. A lot of Christians are reading psalms 91 over their household and their families because in this psalms God assures the protection of all who believes in him. Psalms 91 says:
"He that dwelleth in the secret pace of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the almighty. I will say unto the Lord, he is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.../A thousand shall fall at thy side and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.../there shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling."
These words are not words to just dismiss, if you read and meditate on what this psalm says then you will see how powerful the words are. Having faith can manifest good things but fear can also act in the same way by manifesting death, hate (racism), chaos and greed. We all need to come together and help one another as God tells us to help our neighbour and to tell one another to be of good courage (Isaiah 41:6). So do not take where the virus was originated as an excuse to be racist and show hate, do not act selfishly and think your immune just because your young and spread the virus even more and also do not buy more than you need and leave nothing for other people in need. Now is not the time for us to divide and turn on one another but to support each other and to show love and faith because that's what God asks of us.

This is a time where the churches and the people of God need to rise up and pray for our nations and the world and for the people who do not know God. We need to run towards God, not away from him because whether you like it or not he is the only one who can help us. I speak faith and by faith I know that the Coronavirus will go away in Jesus Name! Like a season, it will not last and it too shall pass. My prayers go out to those who have lost someone due to this virus, may God rest their souls.

We have to keep being hopeful and be of good courage; we have to be the light of this world."Be of Good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord" (Psalm 31:24).
